The association Voice of Ezidis, co-founded in Paris in 2019 by survivors of the 2014 genocide perpetrated by the so-called Islamic State, is committed to the support of the Ezidi community, both in France, where some refugee families have fled since the beginning of the genocide, and in Iraq, where a lot of Ezidis still reside. Voice of Ezidis defends the rights of the Ezidi people and advocates for the awareness and recognition of the genocide it endured in 2014.
Lobbying & Advocacy
Voice of Ezidis collaborates with stakeholders at the local, national and international level to put forward concrete proposals for the protection and support of Ezidi refugees.
Visiting Ezidi families all around France, Voice of Ezidis' team conducts individual interviews in order to produce qualitative data and comprehensive reports which are then shared to the authorities - French deputies, Ministère de l'Intérieur, drawing their attention on th echallenges faced by the community and calling for their action.
Voice of Ezidis takes part and supports awareness campaigns defending and promoting Ezidis' fundamental rights, demanding for the recognition of the 2014 genocide and the suing of the responsible. Voice of Ezidis has so far reached out to all European Parliaments, and started working with a few of them on draft laws recognizing the genocide.
